Chris Burrett - Founder and Director:

Chris is a passionate, enthusiastic and versatile musician with a broad musical education, background and experience encompassing composition, arranging and orchestration, music theory, music production, directing and performance.

​

He is currently Principal Percussionist for the BBC Concert Band, as well as playing drums for the Shambles Big Band. He drums in and composes for his own jazz quintet Kings Jazz. He has many years of experience singing in a church choir beginning the age of 7, serving as Head Chorister and then as a Bass Lay Clerk.

​

Chris has worked extensively as a peripatetic tutor at a number of Primary and Secondary schools, coaching and engaging with students to inspire them to achieve their musical potential. He has trained and worked as a Musical and Choral Director, and has used these skills in school settings to deliver shows, concerts and carol services.

​

Chris is currently Musical Director for the Square Drama Circle. He wrote the script, music and lyrics for his original stage musical 'The Legend of Troy' (for which he was also musical director and co-director), which won the NODA Best Musical 2019/20 award.

​

His next show 'The Golden Days', an original jazz musical, premieres in late 2023.

​

Drawing from these experiences, Chris is passionate and enthusiastic about leading Beati.
